CHECK WHERE YOUR FAVS GO

If people fav your art, you might want to check out which folder/collection they put it in – I don't always pay attention to this but will be paying more attention now!  I just discovered one of my photos in this person's Background Stock folder and all my art/photos have clearly copyrighted notices.  I haven't ever permitted my work to be used as background stock – only as wallpaper on one individual computer.  This person is listed as being in the U.S. so I presume that language isn't the issue (from looking at the site).  This person has only been a DA member for a month but if lobolika  lobolika.deviantart.com/ favs your work you might want to check it out.

....................................

Here is the note I sent to the person:

I apreciate that you liked Molten Arctic Sunset 1arcticfox.deviantart.com/art/… enough to fav it.

However......I noticed that you put it in your folder named "Background Stock".

My art/photos are not stock and are not to be used as backgrounds for anyone's work.  Using my work without permission is a violation of copyright law and illegal.

Please remove my photo from your folder/site immediately.

I will be checking back to see that you have removed it.  Thank you!

..................................................................

I hope you all are doing well and enjoying your summer.  It's been a very busy one for me and I haven't had the time to be around DA much!  July was one of our coolest and wettest on record!  I'm ready for some sun!!

Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,

Anita  :-)

I just happened to look one day at the folder a deviant had put my deviation in. The folder was called, "Worst Crap Ever." I laughed out loud then went to his profile page and commented, "Um, thanks?" What he told me in return isn't printable!

My daughter has had the same problem that you have had.... deviants putting her personal photos that state they are personal, into stock folders. Not sure why a deviant doesn't notice whether or not a picture is stock since it is usually stated IF it is in the artist description
