ARTISTS – A CHALLENGE FOR YOU!

Some of you may be wondering what I’ve been up to.  I have spent a lot of time thinking about the current issue/s here at deviantART and also about ways to help (a tiny bit) artists to make their work safer than doing nothing – just an exploration of sorts.  Before you start yelling at me I KNOW about all the ways to defeat things.  My intention is only to make it more time-consuming to steal art.  Ooops  I mean, infringe my copyright!

I also have been spending time walking in the woods I love, photographing things that catch my interest, which are too many to list. Yesterday I was out stumbling over logs and plowing through spider-webs (while trying to avoid the hornets home in the ground) and it was GORGEOUS!  Well…at least to me, it was.  :-)

Certain parts of the woods are ablaze with the fiery red/orange poisonous Amanita mushrooms and I was in heaven, crawling around on the forest floor, photographing them.  They are all so very different, each one unfolding in it’s own unique splendor.

Of course I couldn’t leave, without the prerequisite photos of “my” beloved stream!  The water was such a cold, crystal clear rambling liquid, that I could see every single algae covered rock and stick.  It’s funny – the stream has so many “moods” and the water changes color depending on the time of day, the angle of the sun, and the changing sky, with and without clouds.  Today it was mostly green, brown or a blackish.  Some areas were however, a striking blue!

Now, with all of this said – I have a challenge for all of you artists!  Does anybody remember as a kid, having the teacher hand out a line drawing of a scene and being asked to find the pictures in it?  I do – yes – that puts me in the category of the chronologically more advanced – and I love it!

Here’s the challenge artists. 1arcticfox.deviantart.com/&nbs… all of my signatures in the landscape photo I just uploaded!  Note me and tell me how many of my signatures you find.  I will feature the first 3 artists to note me, in my Journal for a month.  So, get busy and have fun!!  :D

*** I will post my Journal with your features in it within the next 2 weeks – and maybe sooner.  It all depends on how cranky my carpal tunnel is!  Thanks for understanding.  :-) ***

Due to severe Carpal Tunnel I am currently not able to respond to comments. Pplease accept my apologies and my thanks here for your comments and favs, if any.

And please remember......all of us as artists here at DA put in long hours of work to create our art.  Have the kindness to request permission to use our work.  ALL work here is copyright by me.  These photos are NOT STOCK ART&.....they are NOT FREE and they are NOT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN.....They CANNOT BE POSTED ON ANY OTHER SITE FOR VIEWING OR DOWNLOAD  :-)

Hugzzzzzzzzzzz to ALL

That's actually pretty rude. As long as neither you nor anyone else is making money off of your work (excluding maybe the random selling of "prints" on deviantArt or something, if you're the one who's making money from that), there's really no reason why anyone shouldn't be able to, say, use your picture as their wallpaper, and then post it to a random site that says, "Show us your wallpaper". In fact that's actually advertising for you, because then if someone likes the wallpaper, they'll says, "Awesome, where did you get it?", and the human will then link them to your dA. You see the reason copyright laws exist is to prevent others from making money off your creations, but if you don't want to share your creations with the world (i.e. viewing when you are not running some kind of art gallery that charges for viewing) then why post them at all? I am incredibly annoyed when people disable the saving of their work... what is the point in me having looked at it if I can't do something with it? (Such as save it to my pictures to look at at random times, use it as wallpaper screensaver etc., or show it to other people when they are wanting to look at something that fits the category - and I really don't want to bookmakr 300 different URLs of pictures solely for that purpose, which would be stupid).

Now on the other hand posting a note that it is copyrighted (to prevent the people who would actually *steal* it - note: I have not until now mentioned stealing) and asking others to always link to you when they show it to anybody under the idea of "shameless self-promotion" is perfectly fine.
