Thanks so much for the views/favs/comments on ALL of the scenic wallpapers I have submitted over the last few weeks. I truly appreciate it! Braving the cold comes with the territory.....no pain....no gain!

One of two deep woodland snow scene wallpapers today.....taken in different winter months. It’s amazing, but the colors displayed in the snow and trees are never the same on any given day! It seems the colder it is, the more the atmosphere seems to produce the icy blue hues and the pink alpinglow, depending on the cloud cover and the angle at which the sun sets.....and of course time of day. :-)

Hope you enjoy a bit of winter scenery from the Great North Land! Thanks for looking and all the very best for a blessed and Happy New Year! :-)

Taken with my Cannon A-720 IS and available light.
:-)

Due to severe Carpal Tunnel I am not able to do very many comments – please accept my apologies.....and my thanks here. So just remember......if I fav your work, with no comments.....I LOVE it!! My thanks in advance for your views, favs and comments.....they are all very much appreciated!

And please remember......all of us as artists here at DA put in long hours of work to create our art. Have the kindness to request permission to use our work. ALL work here is copyright by me. These photos are NOT STOCK ART.....they are NOT FREE and they are NOT IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN.....They CANNOT BE POSTED ON ANY OTHER SITE FOR VIEWING OR DOWNLOAD :-)

Hugzzzzzzzzzzz to ALL ............

I keep thinking of a Robert Frost poem I heard years ago, to the effect that "the woods is love, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep." I don't remember it word for word, but this picture certainly conjures up that beautiful poem!

This is the poem you are thinking of....one that I think of everytime I traverse the bridges into the woods. It is by Robert Frost.....whom I had the exciting opportunity of meeting, when I was in high school!

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Robert Frost

This is so lovely, and I thank you so much for taking the time to print it out. We discussed this in school. Apparently, there may have been a couple of different meanings to it. One meaning had to do with the woods symbolizing death, and I can certainly see that aspect. I love how Frost conveys the horse's thoughts to us! That's just how an animal will communicate, too. My cats jingle their collars (by head shaking) when I come into the room, so as to draw attention.

I love good poetry, though. There is so little poetry these days, and we could use more of that.

You're welcome Jean...it was always one of my very favorite too! Yes....I miss good poetry too. Not to say that mine is good....but I must start entering my poems (over 100 peoms) into the computer this winter.....a project several people have encouraged me to do in order to publish. I used to write quite a bit.....but I guess the fractals and photography have taken the place of "that creative aspect". :D  :heart>

Thanks so much Lauren! Just happend to be out walking on the right day at exactly the right time, with the blue spectrum from the sky bouncing around off the water at just the right angle! Lucky happenstance! :-)
