ALPINGLOW LIGHTS THE SNOW

Thanks so much for the views/favs/comments on ALL of the scenic wallpapers I have submitted over the last few weeks. I truly appreciate it! Braving the cold comes with the territory.....no pain.....no gain!

Today’s cold shoot proved to be an experience! Brrrrrrrrrrr.....it was -15 F or –26 C! The cold zapped fresh batteries in 10 minutes, like it was going out of style! Fortunately I always carry extra ones. It was so cold I didn’t want to unzip my many layers of clothing, to put my camera inside. I kept it in my pocket with my gloved hand over it, but that was still not enough. Have to remember to buy a hot pack!!

It took forever holding the button down to focus, and did not do as good a job in this cold, so the focus is not what I had hoped for but the lighting was awesome! The lens moved in and out at a snail’s pace and my fingers were so cold it I couldn’t tell when I had snapped the photo! I might just stay in today, because at 2 am here it is already –20 F or –28 C! But I will have to say….it was simply.....beautiful!!
