Thanks Ann! It's a beautiful little river, with the water tumbling down from the higher mountain pass and I just love it there - the sound of the water is so relaxing. I could sit there forever! I should know (as a rockhound) more about the rocks there, but I think most are sonme type of granite-based rock. Interestingly, there are the remains of old gold mines high up in the pass. I haven't climbed in that area so am not sure if there are any little streams that would lead out of the gold mine area or not, into this river. But there is an area where I go in a different mountain range, where you can see tiny sparkles in the sand - from gold mines upstream! :D :hug:
